Assateague Island National Seashore

Thought I'd provide some diversity to the posts from the most recent trip. Here are two images of the wild ponies often seen on Chincoteague and Assateague. Both these shots were captured at Assateague. The horses were fairly close to the road. I experimented with my wide angle lens to provide a different perspective.
I'm working part time for the Department until March/April. They had a grant position available. I'm helping the waterfowl biologist trap ducks and swans and placing radio telemetry equipment on them so they can track their migration behavior. Good times.

Blue Skies.

The wild ponies don't look to put out by your presence.
How wonderful to have a job you love so much that you go back part time to help out, after you retire.

Lovely shots Ken. I love to see the wild ponies in those great open spaces where they can roam free.

Sounds like a fun position then Ken. I hope it gives a lot of opportunites to get some fun photos. Love the wild ponies. It's fun to see that its easy to get close to them to enjoy them.

Sounds like a fantastic opportunity... great pony shots.. the one looks a bit ribby, is that normal for them, or was he old/ill? thanks for sharing
