News
I am the luckiest guy in the world! Since spending a great deal of time in the office before retirement as a game warden, I really wanted get back outdoors again. The seasonal waterfowl position I have posting about has been great and concluded on Friday.
Before retirement, I knew that Alaska would be in my future. Of all the national parks I have visited, Denali was certainly one of my favorites. I applied to several parks and received some offers last week. Friday, I accepted a seasonal park ranger position in Denali. I will be working there from May to September. My plans are to drive all the way out to Alaska, stopping to see my son, friends and several wildlife viewing locations on the way out. When internet access is available, I will be posting images during the trip.
I have a friend that has recently entered the blogging world. He is an accomplished photographer as you can see from his first posts. Take a gander at his blog: Photography by Tim Rucci

An incredible blog Ken and what luck. I can just imagine the scenes coming soon!
Ken: Well a hearty congrats is in order. That park should allow you considerable shots of nature. I awit seeing them when you get time.
You lucky!!! We lucky!!! Dying to see those photos. Talking about luck, I am staying with a relative in Dayton, Ohio; in the middle of the city. There a pair of Cooper's Hawks building a nest in the backyard. Getting almost Ken's quality shots.
How wonderful for you Ken. Once the outdoor style of living is in our blood, we can never find it easy to get used to being in a city again. There is something about these wild places that I love.
I look forward to seeing the pictures from there.
Congratulations, Ken! That is wonderful news. I have a feeling we are about to see Denali like never before once you're up there and get out with your rig. I will miss seeing you down here in Florida this year, as you will be in Alaska while I am here chasing birds without you.
Thanks for the plug you gave me at the end of your article. I don't have many readers yet, so I appreciate that.
