Shenandoah National Park - Whitetail Deer

During the first week of November had a great week with some folks that joined me for some wildlife photography lessons in Shenandoah National Park, VA. The rutting period was approaching peak, and bucks chasing does were readily seen in the morning and the evening. The above image was one I was able to capture of one of the more dominant bucks in the area. Blue Skies.

Beautiful image! I almost expect to see the steam from his breath and hear the sounds in the woods around him.

This is just a gorgeous photo of the Buck. I just visited Elaine's blog (Arctic View) and saw your comment and decided to pop over and have a look. I lived in Alaska from 1987 to 2001 and Elaine and Marty are good friends of ours. I have a question: When I lived there, my Mary Kay lady's name was Janice Conger. Are you - or were you - by chance related to her? I'll be back to see if you commented on this question or not. Very nice blog.
