I was able to travel over to photograph at Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge for 2 days with a friend before the winter storm arrived. We concentrated on waterfowl images. The above male and below shots are shovelers (named appropriately for their spoon shaped bill). With awesome light had plenty of shutter speed, we had a great time trying to capture sharp images of fliers.

Enjoyed the afternoon light and the birds walking accross the frozen impoundments.

We travled over to Assateague Island National Seashore, MD and lucked into some close wild horses.

Blue Skies.
That horse picture is very interesting. Is there some post-image processing going on there? It looks like a painting almost.
ReplyDeleteI don't see a photo at all....

ReplyDeleteThanks all for taking the time to comment. Your words are appreciated.
ReplyDeleteJim,
I exposed/metered specifically for the horse, knowing that the background would blow out a large dark mammal. So, added +2/3 light exposure. Also, in Photoshop since it was a mid-morning strong light image decreased the highlights. Hope this helps explain the look.
Blue Skies,
Ken
Nice series! I like the reflection in the ice, not something you would expect to encounter.
