I made my annual trip in May to the American Bear Association's property in northern Minnesota. The ABA provides a visual as well as educational black bear experience for the public. I help them with various construction projects prior to their official season opening on Memorial Day weekend. The bonus is that I work with folks from all over the world who also come to volunteer. After the work day, I often had the opportunity to photograph the black bears.
