Central Florida

Today's featured species is the Great Blue Heron. Things could not have worked out better yesterday morning. I was at Vierra Wetland for first light. The Great Blue Herons had started to build their nests. The light was on the best side as they entered the new nest site with sticks. I was fortunate to get a number of keeper fliers and this is just a sample of a few. It was a fun morning. Blue Skies.

More great shots and it looks like you are having blue skies. Stay south there is no blue skies here, just plenty of rain sleet and snow.

Those are some AMAZING photos!
I know you are having so much fun.
I always get excited when I get a GOOD shot. It's a sense of satisfaction. That really never gets completely fulfilled.

Spectacular Ken,
What most people call luck is usually a mixture pf patience and knowledge of subject. I know you have both in spades. Look forward to seeing you this winter!
Blue Skies,

Perfect light in your series of photos where it seems like the heron is heading towards its nest that it is tending to. Very wondeful to see.

Wow, Ken! You got some really sweet images on your recent trip. I am surprised that there were so many birds this early in the season, but knowing you as I do, I'm aware that you'll find them if they are out there. I'm sorry I was not able to meet you this time. I'm jealous after seeing you photos. Great work!
