South Florida



Today's featured species is the Moorhen. I have an intenet connection at the motel so wanted to get the post out before the morning's shoot. The Moorhen is certainly not as dynamic as the Gallinule in the earlier post, but they are in the same family. Moorhens are also referred to as marsh hens. Both these images were captured at Green Cay. Blue Skies

Great shots Ken, the owl photos are fantastic. They are beautiful birds that I have been trying to photograph for years with no luck. It looks like the first couple of weeks of retirement are agreeing with you.

Ken: Neat shots, I think I got a Common Moorhen when in Florida but it was brown. Maybe it was a female.
