Denali - Lynx

I have been seeing Lynx occasionally since my arrival at Denali National Park. Most of the time I see a glimpse of them from the road and off they go into the bush. When this shot was captured, this particular animal was laying down in some moss relaxing. As you can see, it is some thick woods. I had to lay down flat in the road so you could get a decent view of his head. In the shot below it is the same guy yawning. There are a large number of snowshoe hare (Lynx's favorite prey) along the road now, so expect there will be other opportunities in the future.

Blue Skies.

Sweet. Gotta lay down on the ground sometimes for the sake of the shot.

I added your feed to my Firefox so I can keep up.

Looking good.

What luck!! Some of these creatures are very camera shy and you have to beg and plead with them to get a shot sometimes. Wait till you try and do insects Ken, then you will know why I wear my oldest clothes and came out full of thorns, mud etc after crawling under bushes in order to get a pic of them. LOL!!

The Lynx has the same ear tufts as our Caracal. I wonder if they are related? I got some shots of one over the weekend and will be posting them in a few weeks time then you can see the similarity.

Yeah, I can relate to getting into awkward positions for the sake of a photo. Do it all the time.
Great shot!

Znakomite zdjęcia, nie łatwo spotkać Rysia w lesie , unikają ludzi .
U nas w Polsce też są Rysie ale nie jest zbyt dużo ,pozdrawiam , Andrzej .
