Today's featured species is the Common Redpoll.
These cute little guys were quite abundant within the bog. Redpolls are a boreal species and seen in North America only in the winter.
I also received some exciting news today! One of my images was chosen as a top ten finalist in the Sony World Photography Awards competition. I am the only American representative in the Amateurs group within the "Natural History" category. Here is the link with the announcement:
