RMNP Moon

Tonight's theme is the Rocky Mountain National Park moon during the trip. Timing worked out especially well since the moon was full during the elk rut. The top image is the moon rising just over the mountain. After photographing the elk until sunset decided to hang around and wait for the moon to rise. When the moon was exactly just over the ridge top and silhouetting the trees I shot the picture. Took several exposures before I ended getting the right one. The middle image is a valley sunrise that shows the moon just above the mountain prior to setting. The bottom photo is the same scene but with a telephoto lens. Blue Skies.

Pretty darn cool!
I'll be heading over to G'land tomorrow, to see what's cooking!
With a little luck I get to see some very fresh gator hatchlings...
Cheers, Klaus
