Central Florida

Today's featured species is the Roseate Spoonbill. Both these images were taken yesterday, which was my last morning in Florida. These photos were taken in Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. Spoonbills are appropriately named due to obvious bill shape. They primarily feed in shallow waters on fish and shrimp by swinging their bill from side to side. Fun to watch.

The worthy web designer guru Klaus was able to join me for this day of photography. It was one of those WOW mornings with the photo Gods rewarding us with a perfect conditions. As you can see from the images, there was not a lick of wind and the water reflections were surreal. Blue Skies.

You have some nice captures here!

It matters really when you have that telephoto lens! Best for images such as that!

I had to check my glasses to see if the fireplace was burning and it really was snowing. I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.

I admire anybody who can take photos of birds and then at the same time create a perfect composition, where anybody else just take common point and shoot pictures. I love reflections!
