Great Smoky Mountains National Park

The Camera Gear Lackey (aka wife) and I wanted to spend some time together prior to my road trip to AK. We decided on the Smokies. During the widlife photography portion of the trip, the target species was the wild turkey, especially the toms. The trip went especially well. The birds were amorous, thus the toms were gobbling and displaying well. Cool mornings with good light made for some awesome photography. In the photo above this tom was consistently gobbling when an adjacent tom would gobble. More good turkey photos to follow. Blue Skies.

That's a super photograph, Ken. They certainly are exciting to photograph this time of year.

I had excellent shooting at them on Monday and Tuesday morning. I used the camcorder on Monday and the DSLR Tuesday and should post some shots from that encounter today or tomorrow.
