RMNP Birds

This evening's post is a few avian images captured in Rocky Mountain National Park last week. The top image is a Robin. While photographing a bull elk this guy happened to land adjacent my location. I swung the tripod around just in time to take a photo before he flew away. The second image is of a Mountain Bluebird. He was perched of top of a park sign when this photo was taken. The third image is of a Magpie. He was grooming himself on top of a rock. A slow approach enabled a close to full frame image. If you look closely you can see his most forward toe scratching underneath his chin. The bottom photo is of a Raven. He conveniently landed on a fire guard grate in a picnic area while I was photographing a Golden Mantled Ground Squirrel.

Tomorrow night plans are to post some of my favorite elk images from the trip.
